We are thrilled to announce Mexico Maine, highlighting the new mixed media paintings by Charlie Hewitt.

“The title Mexico Maine helps frame the whole exhibition. It suggests that these paintings come out of a real place, but are not limited to literal description. They are shaped by lived experience, work and memory as well as the pull of somewhere beyond. The show is a geography of contrasts, near and far, images and symbols both familiar and foreign. The collection creates an emotional map of all roads I’ve travelled.”
