PAT STEIR
Pat Steir (born 1938) is an American painter known for her large-scale “Waterfall” paintings, created by pouring and dripping paint to let gravity and chance guide the image. Influenced by Zen philosophy, John Cage, and Chinese painting, her work explores the balance between control and spontaneity. A key figure in conceptual and feminist art, Steir has exhibited internationally, with her work held in major museums like MoMA and the Guggenheim.
