On October 15th, Ligorano/Reese will be installing DemocracyICED in front of the capitol on the National Mall. The 18 x 6 foot sculpture of the word DEMOCRACY will melt away during the day and serve as the backdrop for the Up In Arms press conference on the dangers of militarizing society.
As the date quickly approaches, we’d like to invite you to join Nora Ligorano/Marshall Reese in making this happen. DemocracyICED will be a historic, iconic photograph and they are offering a limited edition digital print (Edition of 25 + 3 APs) from the National Mall for a donation of $2,350, of which $2,100 is tax-deductible. Your contribution will help with the documentation and postproduction of this important project.
Nora and Marshall will be livestreaming the melting of the sculpture from start to finish and will share the link with you. Additionally, they will be shooting still photography and filming street interviews and timelapse videos throughout the event that will be aggregated to the Melted Away and Up In Arms websites and social media.
